The primary objective of this dental treatment is to improve the appearance of your smile, but also to support the health of teeth and gums. Dr. Joseph and Dr. Schell assess the state of your teeth, including how they line up and what if any damage there may be. Scans, impressions, and pictures are taken of your entire mouth. A study model of your mouth is made by a lab for the doctor to use to customize a complete makeover plan. The study model helps him determine what types of restorations are possible with your tooth and jaw alignment. Next you come in for a consultation, so Dr. Joseph or Dr. Schell can explain the entire plan to make over your smile and answer all the questions you have. When you’re ready, we get you in for your first appointment to do all the preparations on all your teeth involved. This appointment can be for several hours. You have temporary restorations placed on your teeth to have until your permanent restorations are made by the lab, if applicable. Once your permanent restorations are done, we schedule you for an appointment to get them placed in your mouth. The doctor adjusts everything and makes sure everything fits together well with each other and the teeth you have. This appointment can take several hours as well. A bite splint may be recommended to help protect your new restorations, so they last for a good number of years.
