What is PPO Dental Insurance?

Yes, we do accept most PPO Dental Insurance plans. As a courtesy, we submit claims to all major PPO dental insurances. To discuss your payment options or insurance coverage, please call our office at 214-617-9836. PPO plans do not require you to choose a primary care dentist. Instead, you can choose any dentist in- or out-of-network. You may be wondering about the costs, however they only very 10% to 25% vs. an in-network dentist. The percentage usually varies by the type of coverage, such as diagnostic and preventive, major services, etc. For example, preventive services may be covered at 100%, while crowns and bridges may be covered at 80% (you pay 20%). With PPO insurance plans, you have the freedom and choice to receive care from more skilled dentists, like Dr. Varun Joseph, and flexibility. At Plano Family Dental, most PPO dental insurance plans cover preventive care treatment 100% and similar savings to in-network dentists.

Use-It or Lose-It, Find Out How We Can Maximize Your Benefits

Most insurance plans include stipulations that try to shift the cost of dental care back onto you as much as possible. If you want to get the best value out of your dental insurance benefits, here's why you should schedule an dental appointment with Dr. Varun P. Joseph at Plano Family Dental.

1. Your Yearly Maximum

Most dental insurance plans have an annual maximum coverage that restarts on the first of the year. Typically, this amount is somewhere between $1,000 to $5,000 per person, depending on your plan. Because this amount restarts in January, it makes sense to use up to your maximum to get the best value from your insurance if you can, which we can help you.

2. Plan Out Your Dental Treatment Over the Years

If you have multiple or reoccurring costly related dental procedures, you can schedule them over a long period, and we will work out a schedule, so you never have to pay additional fees. An example would be to start treatment in December and finish in January. This is a smart way to reduce your out-of-pocket costs by dipping into the maximums of two benefit years.

3. Deductibles. Deductibles. Deductibles.

Most dental insurance companies have a deductible that must be met for you to have your benefits, and they take over payment for treatment.

4. Monthly Premiums

Another process dental insurance is provided, is through monthly premiums. If you pay these somewhat monthly costly charges, You should use your policy as much as needed. Many people use insurance as a tool for problems after they have occurred, but Dr. Varun P. Joseph at Plano Family Dental believes prevention is critical.

5. Dental Problems Will Get Worse

While it's not uncommon to put off things we don't want to do — especially dental work that might be uncomfortable — it's not always the smartest decision. Unfortunately, most dental issues will only get worse if allowed to go untreated. Procrastinating can lead to even more discomfort due to more complicated procedures and higher costs when you finally do seek treatment.

As the end of the year is approaching, we recommend coming in as soon as possible to see if we can use any extra benefits or coverage and take care of any issues Dr. Varun P. Joseph may see. Please feel to schedule online or call us. We work with many insurances and will help file your benefits, just reach out so we can help!
